Scientist/Associate Scientist – Analytical Development
We seek a highly talented and motivated Scientist/Associate Scientist to join a new development team in San Diego. Adcentrx Therapeutics is driving ground-breaking efforts in cancer biotherapeutics drug development. The candidate will help to develop novel targeted biotherapeutics that can make a difference in the life of cancer patients.
The Scientist/Associate Scientist will report to the Head of Analytical Development and will work closely with members of the development team, as well as the research team. The candidate will be part of a cross-functional team in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment working closely on a shared mission.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will use mostly protein-analytical chromatographic methods for the characterization of protein-based therapeutics and antibody-drug-conjugates. He/she will be responsible for in-process sample testing, method development as well as research and manufacturing support for clinical candidates. The candidate will use various modes of liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC, SEC, IEC, HIC) as well as electrophoretic assays such as cIEF and CE-SDS for their analysis. Where appropriate, the candidate will perform MS based analysis or oversee MS analysis from third parties.
Qualifications:
- BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry, analytical chemistry or other relevant disciplines
- At least 5 years (MS, BS) or at least 2 years of experience (PhD)
- Experience with UPLC /HPLC required
- Experience with capillary electrophoresis and CE-SDS preferred
- Experience working with therapeutic proteins is preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills are required
- Experience with electronic notebook programs preferred
- Ability to stand for more than 4 hours and lift 30 pounds is required
- cGMP experience is preferable
